Yegor Zabelov is the most famous accordionist of Belarusian musical underground, a composer, an author of music for theatrical performances and movies, the founder of «Gurzuf» band and «Yegor Zabelov Trio».

He started his professional education at the age of seven (Yegor’s first teacher was his farther), continued at Mogilev musical college named after Rimsky-Korsakov and culminated at Belarusian State Academy of Music.

In 2002 Yegor became a prizewinner of the International contest of folk musicians named after Zhinovich. Yegor started composing when he was 20, during his studies at the musical college. His first work, «Sonata», in which he included several citations from «Prodigy» songs, received the first prize at the local contest of composers held at the college. Having achieved success in academic music, he became interested in different trends of rock music, which led to his acquaintance with “alternative” musicians.

Since 2003 Yegor started to work with several Belarusian bands («Nagual», «Serebryanaya Svadba»), together with whom, he was giving concerts in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland and France.

In summer 2005 Yegor together with the drummer Artyom Zalessky founded «Gurzuf», where he was also a composer. Playing in the band, the musician gave more than 300 concerts along the entire Europe, as well as in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, participated in a number of ethno and jazz festivals, festivals of accordion and alternative music, including «Le Grand Soufflet» (Rennes, France), Sergey Kuryokhin International Festival «SKIF» (S-Petersburg, Russia), «Jazz Bez» (Lublin, Poland/Lvov, Ternopol, Ukraine), «B-Sides» (Lucern, Suisse), «Etno-Mechanica» (S-Petersburg, Russia), «Fusion» (Larz, Germany), International accordion festival (Vienna, Austria), «Airbag» (Brugge, Belgium), World Accordion Festival (Torres Vedras, Portugal) and others.

In 2006 Yegor met with a famous Belarusian stage director Aleksey Lelyavsky and eventually wrote music to a number of his performances, which were staged in Belarus, Germany, Poland and Slovenia. Yegor also wrote music to a German silent film «The Golem: How He Came Into the World» (1920), specifically for the Polish festival «25th Days of Modern Art» (Bialystok, Poland) in 2010. Same year, Yegor as a member of «Gurzuf» received a Sergey Kuryokhin Modern Art Award in nomination «Ethno-Mechanica».

In 2011 he founded «Yegor Zabelov Trio», where he works at the present moment.
