Being a composer is a very important part of Yegor Zabelov’s creative work. Yegor composes music for different theatre plays and cinema. Such theatre work started in 2006 after Yegor met a famous theatre producer Alexey Leljavsky who invited the novice musician to compose music for his next play. It was the play «Blue Bird», which was getting ready for the first run in the Belarusian State Puppet Theatre. Eventually Yegor composed music to a whole range of his plays, that were presented on stages of different Belarusian, German, Polish and Slovenian theatres.

Movie soundtracks:

«Silent cinema music making gives a big part of freedom in the choice of composer’s conception. I develop the complete idea and only the film itself influences me. I saw silent movies performances on different festivals, analyzed what I liked and disliked. The film «Golem, How He Came Into the World» is perceived in a comic way nowadays. But at that time people were scared, I think. It was challenging for me to underline it’s drama and tragic elements. At the same time a film is montage, something always changes. It’s not quite interesting for me to compose illustrative music. I decided to divide the film into pieces and single out the main thought of each part, (for example «Murder») not taking into account scene change and movement. My action is subject to one thought, they both meet up at some point, then they part. I try to lead the third thread in music with its own development, even contrasting the main scene sometimes…».
